Faustus Floating Steps

I was tasked as Technical director to build 8″ deep floating steps for this show. These steps proved to be a engineering challenge which was solved by using a tapered 2×4 attached to joist hangers. This provided a place for lighting to put led strips and create a floating effect for the stairs.

I also built a light weight table using stressed skin techniques which 2 actors could stand upon but was still easy to maneuver around the stage.
