Technical Direction

Technical Direction has been a natural progression from my design work. I have worked in each of the design fields other than costume, which has prepared me for the management of tech elements for any production. In many of the productions I have worked on I have held more that one role. This division of task within my own self has led me to take an approach to Technical Direction which is inclusive of the aesthetic and thematic goals of the production, as well as practical limitations. This approach is core to my work guiding each decision I have to make, often on the fly, to enhance and realize the goals of the designers and director.

Technical Direction Paperwork

Paperwork is so important to putting together a smooth show. Whether it be a budget breakdown, Gantt chart for scheduling, or weekly shop build schedules, the work I do behind the scenes helps keep the show moving along and on budget.
