In this collection of several short comedic plays the director really the feeling of a painting by Mondrian to be present in the design. The configuration of the seating was in alley format with audience on two opposing sides. This led me to develop a set that was based off of the overlapping rectangles that are signature of Mondrian’s paintings. I keep the bars thin and rectangles large enough to see through easily. I also added a few pieces of versatile furniture with brightly primary colored tops. The set was very successful as being versatile interactive and fun for both the actors and the audience.
